The grain could drop in to a spent grain bin below the lauter and be pumped or augered in to an outdoor tank or trailer. Progressive cavity pumps work well in this application, especially for long distances. Augers are just fine for shorter distances. At Deschutes we used progressive cavity pumps and would plumb in compressed air just after the pump to help keep the grain moving.
